Statewide Policy Manager Honored for Work in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health
Callan Wells, MS, of the Georgia Early Education Alliance for Ready Students (GEEARS), was selected as a recipient of ZERO TO THREE’s Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH) Emerging Leadership Award in Practice. ZERO TO THREE is the nation’s leading early development nonprofit dedicated to ensuring all babies and toddlers have a strong start in life. This is the third year ZERO TO THREE is honoring outstanding professionals for their contributions to the infant and early childhood mental health field.

Georgia Association for Infant Mental Health: Birth to Five Kick-Off
More than 200 leaders in the field of infant and early childhood mental health participated in a day-long event to celebrate the establishment of the Georgia Association for Infant Mental Health: Birth to Five (GA-AIMH) at Georgia State University.
GA-AIMH is housed in the Center for Leadership in Disability, which is part of the School of Public Health. In addition to celebrating the creation of GA-AIMH, the Nov. 2 kick-off event looked ahead to opportunities to expand Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH) initiatives across the state.
Featured topics included Georgia IECMH policy and Medicaid updates, culturally responsive practices, pregnancy and early parenthood, early childhood development and attachment, addressing trauma in infancy and early childhood, reflective supervision and consultation, and Infant Mental Health Endorsement®.
