Keynote Speaker
Stan Sonu, MD, MPH
Dr. Stan C. Sonu is an Assistant professor of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine; Associate Program Director for the Emory J. Willis Hurst Internal Medicine Residency program at Grady Health System.
Research interests include adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), trauma-informed care, advancing health equity, and addressing social determinants of health in clinical care settings. Passionate about teaching about ACEs and training future clinicians on effective and patient-centered ways to address trauma in primary care. Engaged in efforts to build community consensus around responding to and preventing ACEs through cross-sector approaches. Hold additional training in urban primary care leadership (University of Chicago’s LUCENT program), integrative medicine (Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at Northwestern University), medication-assisted treatment of opioid use disorders, and positive parenting practices (Triple P Primary Care).

Callan serves as Policy Advisor to the Georgia Association for Infant Mental Health: Birth to Five (GA-AIMH) and co-chairs the Interagency Directors Team’s Prevention and Early Intervention Workgroup. She also serves on the board of Motherhood Beyond Bars.
In 2019, Callan worked with state leaders in the Georgia House of Representatives on the Infant-Toddler Social-Emotional Health Study Committee. In 2021, she received the Black Child Development Institute of Atlanta’s Emerging Leader Award. In 2022, she received the Emerging Leader Award in IECMH Policy from ZERO TO THREE, the Friend of NAMI Award from NAMI-Georgia, and the IECMH Champion of the Year Award from the Georgia Association for Infant Mental Health. In 2022, she was also named a ZERO TO THREE Fellow. In 2023, she received the System of Care Academy Individual Merit Award.

Driven by her passion for ABA, Gereen pursued a Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis from Georgia State University. Her commitment to the field expanded as she developed a strong interest in training and coaching early interventionists and educators on effectively supporting children and students with challenging behaviors.
In addition to her work in the school district, Gereen is the founder and owner of Tangerine Behavioral Consulting LLC. Tangerine specializes in providing individual and group parent training and consultation services, while also supervising the fieldwork of trainees working towards BCBA certification.
Gereen was born and raised in St. Croix, US. Virgin Islands, and enjoys tropical weather, relaxing on a beach, and sea turtles. As a mom to a twice-exceptional child, Gereen understands the challenges of maintaining a behavioral approach when challenging behaviors occur. Her advocacy for her son motivates her to continue educating parents, early interventionists, and educators about the practical implementation of ABA and PBIS.

Cissé works tirelessly to eradicate the violence that she believes is rooted in miseducation and inappropriate desire to control others. She is a member of the GA Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Advisory Board and recently appointed to the Macon-Bibb County Age-Friendly Council. She recently became a member of the NASW-GA board, IMH endorsed and IECHMH certified. Dr. Cissé is a former instructor in social work at FVSU. She is co-owner and founder, CEO and Lead Therapist at the Southern Center for Choice Theory, LLC in Macon, Georgia – the organization responsible for leading the Macon Mental Health Matters Initiative.
Dr. Cissé is the mother of 5 adult children, grandmother of 27 and great-grandmother of 6. She's a writer, trainer, activist, innovator and “story catching change-agent".

Mitzi’s current project involves providing program coordination of the Georgia Thrive Infant Toddler Court Program (ITCP). The ITCP aims to strengthen the stability and resiliency of families with children ages 0-3 in the child welfare system by providing intensive case management and resources to prevent and address adverse childhood experiences.
